Kate and Logan first met in Ithaca, so it only made sense that they would return here to begin their happily ever after. The wedding weekend began with hikes, golfing, lunch dates and drinks with friends and family in the town they love. Then a rehearsal dinner, followed by a welcome reception to greet all of their guests to their wonderful wedding weekend.
Suddenly the big day was here! If you’re in Ithaca, you obviously start your morning with Collegetown Bagels. Then I headed to the venue to photograph some details.
The Fontainebleau Inn is elegant, and charming. Nestled away in the Finger Lakes, the beautiful house sits on a hill overlooking Cayuta Lake and is trimmed with vibrant flowers and trees to really make the white house glow.
Kate’s dress, from Emma and Grace Bridal Studio back home in Denver, was pieced together after Kate happened upon the skirt and then found a lace top with a plunging v-cut back. I am in love with the way the skirt moved in the wind!
My favorite room in the house was the study. Bookcases, a fireplace, leather chairs. It was quite masculine, but had character and style that drew me in. I could’ve spent the whole day in there!
I met up with the girls at Miel Beauty Bar where they were getting hair and makeup done.
The guys were hard at work too, playing in the lake behind the Fontainebleau Inn.
Now came the time for everyone to get dressed and ready! The guys were on one end of the house, and the girls were on the other.
Kate and Logan had decided to do a first look before the ceremony so we snuck out front for some photos before the guests arrived.
The way they look at each other gives me chills! These are two of my favorite photos, so genuine, authentic, and full of emotion!
They had each gotten cards for their soon-to-be-spouse so we took a few moments for them to open them together. Not just one card each, or even three… I think there were over ten cards total!
The house was such a darling backdrop for these photos!
Before hiding away for the guests to arrive, I asked if we could do a few photos in my favorite room! Yes!
Guests headed out the back door and down the hill to the ceremony location.
They sat beneath a gigantic tree with the lake water glistening before them and waited for Kate to walk down the aisle with her father.
The ceremony was officiated by Logan’s Aunt Amy, with readings from Kate’s forever friend, Stina.
The newlyweds were introduced and shared their first dance!
It was time to head inside the dining room for the reception. Kate has such a classy and elegant style, from the moment she first mentioned her wedding I knew it was going to be stunning… and she certainly did not disappoint! Everything was done with such intention and attention to detail.
After dinner, we headed back down to the water for some photos on the dock.
A spontaneous firework show across the lake provided the perfect photo opp!
Every wedding is special and beautiful in its own way, and I always have favorite moments. I think what stood out most to me was the way that Kate and Logan interacted with one another, and loved one another. I could see it during their engagement photos and again on their wedding day- they are completely enamored with one another. It is a one-of-a-kind love story that will last forever.
It truly is a gift to be chosen to capture these precious moments and I hope you feel all the emotions that I experience while looking through these photos! Congratulations Kate and Logan!
